Katy and SiddharthaA traditional Indo-US wedding in the US
An apple a day keeps the doctors away, but when the doctor gets married how do you keep us wedding photographers away? Two very intellectual individuals, Katy and Siddhartha, are doctors who are involved in researching possible cures for cancer. A wedding of doctors can be a lot of fun too. Their Indian American Wedding was at my favorite city, Cincinnati.
Downtown Cincinnati came to a standstill to witness the baraat procession of Siddhartha. The beautifully decked ghodi, the sound of dhol, synced with super hit Punjabi music and scores of dancing family members were welcomed by Katy’s family with garlands and sweets on the other end of the street decked in Indian wedding dresses.
A union of cultures from Punjab to North America, this Indian American wedding is special to me as the Jaiswals have been good friends during my stay in Cincinnati.
